Trust Issues: Will Parties

because saying you can have my stuff isn’t legally binding

Why make a will?

Don’t get all in your head about this. Only 23% of people in the US have wills. Let’s get out of our own way, have some fun together, and check this off the list.

We are all going to die, and if you don’t have a legal will in place, it will be MUCH harder for your loved ones to take care of business when that day comes. Even if you think you don’t have a lot of assets, making a will is a huge gift to those you leave behind here on earth while you’re partying in universe dust.

Why does Waking Giants want to host this?

Our whole MO is assisting our community members in having the tools we need to live our best lives, with JOY and JUSTICE squarely rooted in our efforts. We get that thinking about death is not necessarily what we all want to spend our time doing. And we know that taking care of this is one of the greatest gifts we can give the folks we love.

Who is notarizing our wills?

We will have a local notary AND/OR lawyer onsite. Part of the JOY baked into this event is that we are going to be able to leave the party with at least one or two legal documents done and we can check it off the list.
